Ingredients
1/2 cup (115 g) unsalted butter
1 cup (200 g) granulated sugar
2 large eggs
1 tsp vanilla extract
1/3 cup (40 g) unsweetened cocoa powder
1/2 cup (65 g) all-purpose flour
1/4 tsp salt
1/4 tsp baking powder
Optional: 1/2 cup chocolate chips or chopped nuts
Instructions
1. Preheat oven to 350°F (175°C).
2. Grease or line an 8-inch (20 cm) square baking pan with parchment paper.
3. Melt the butter in a saucepan or microwave-safe bowl.
4. Stir in the sugar, eggs, and vanilla until smooth.
5. Add cocoa powder, flour, salt, and baking powder. Mix until just combined.
6. Fold in chocolate chips or nuts if using.
7. Spread batter evenly into the prepared pan.
8. Bake for 20–25 minutes, or until a toothpick inserted in the center comes out with a few moist crumbs.
9. Let cool completely before cutting into squares.
Tips
For extra fudgy brownies, bake closer to 20 minutes.
